US Course on Mitigating the Risk of Food Fraud

FIRST TIME COURSE OFFERING to introduce users to USP's Food Fraud Mitigation Guidance, a practical tool designed to help:

  • Identify the riskiest food ingredients in supply chains
  • Evaluate the need for a food fraud mitigation strategy
  • Develop strategies necessary to address food fraud and Economically Motivated Adulteration (EMA)

EMA and food counterfeiting are major threats to the integrity of the nation’s food supply. The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and a new FDA rule now require food manufacturers to develop a Food Safety Plan and mitigate known or foreseeable risks. This in-depth course will walk participants step-by-step through the individual scoring rubrics for conducting a vulnerability characterization and help them develop a control plan to mitigate risks.
