I have a background in Chemistry (BSc in Chemistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece) and Food Science (MSc in Food Science and Nutrition, University of Leeds, U.K.). I worked at the State Laboratory of Cyprus for 2 and a half years (on a contract basis) as an Analytical Chemist in Food product analysis. I was a member of the National Reference Laboratory (NRL) of Cyprus for Mycotoxins, Heavy Metals, Nitrates and other contaminants. I was also involved in European Food Safety Authority's FoodEX II project for the classification and re-coding of different food products. I joined LGC Standards in May 2015 as a Technical and Development Manager. As a member of a team of 6, I am responsible to develop Proficiency testing materials for Food Chemistry Proficiency Testing Schemes and incorporating them into Schemes, maintaining new wish list requests from customers and replying to customers queries.
